Machine Shop Supervisor
Our client in the Manufacturing/Engineering Industry in Vanderbijlpark has a permanent position available for a dynamic and experienced Machine Shop Supervisor/Foreman with the following:

Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12/N3
• Must be fluent in English & Afrikaans
• MUST have 5 years Relevant Machine Shop Supervisory/Engineering
• Extensive plant experience with significant proven supervisory experience
• Technical understanding
• Understanding of advance product quality planning
• Managing profit/loss responsibilities
• Strong proficiency in MS Office & Excel
• Enterprise Resource Planning systems experience
• Lead the Machine shop functions within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements & standards
• Full accountability for ensuring safety, quality control & cost requirements are met

Job duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure the delivery of the people strategy within the area of accountability
• Manage & coach & develop a high performing manufacturing team
• Set departmental objectives/KPI’s and review and assess ongoing performances
• Report on achieving targets and identify actions required
• Manage and lead team, ensure adequate staffing levels
• Provide technical expertise to the team
• Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performances and records
• Consistently promote high standards

Accountabilities:
• Plant safety
• Implementation of manufacturing best practices and improve operational performances
• Identify business improvements
• Control daily tool consumption as per machine and roll requirements
• Effectively manage daily and weekly, monthly targets
• Responsible for plant performance by maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities
• Produce written reports of failures and corrective actions implementations
• Undertake continuous training & development
• Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
• Develop and implement KPI’s for each responsibility

Financial & Budget Control:
• Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets
• Prepare the Manufacturing budget and forecast and all capital expenditure proposals, as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards
• Responsible for achieving budget and forecast
