An exciting opportunity for a Maintenance and Works Manager has become available in one of the exciting clients.

Purpose:
To Manage on a day to day basis the staff and Maintenance Department activities nationally and to ensure that works and maintenance services are provided to all sites.

Special Requirements:
Travel nationally
Overtime when required
Own Car

Budgets:
+- R 18 million operational budgets per annum

This position looks after 60 staff complement

Minimum Requirements:
Matric
Advanced Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering / Facilities or other relevant qualifications within the build environment
Computer Literacy
SAP

Experience:
5 years managerial experience or 8 years supervisory experience within a plant and machinery / Facilities Maintenance environment.
5 years experience in a project management experience.
OHS Act : Building Regulations : Environmental management Conservations Act, Water Act: Minerals and Petroleum Resources and Development Act.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend meetings with other divisional heads to determine Works and Maintenance requirements and progress of agreed projects.
Determine whether work can be performed internally or externally and negotiate maintenance solutions when required.
Investigate and make recommendations as to the suitability of the tender.
Coordinate the use of the outside consultants and specialists.
Monitor Contracts in progress by attending site meetings and taking corrective action where needed to ensure compliance.
Recommend to Senior Managers and Administration new modifications to existing policy and or procedure.
Meet SHEQ requirements by constantly checking and supervising all work done.
Decide on best way to proceed with a particular job and allocate the work to appropriate sections.
Discuss Jobs on hand and procedures
Register with the Labour department as responsible persons regarding to machinery.
Manage people to achieve Operational requirements.
Track and drive individual development plans for all staff by identifying general training and staff development needs and ensuring that staff attend organised training programs
Deal with Grievances, conflict and disciplinary issues and take appropriate corrective action in accordance with company policy on matters related to misconduct and incapacity with a view to increase productivity.
Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained to agreed standards.
Ensure continuous power supply for core business and support systems.
Ensure maintenance, installation and repair of equipment if it takes place in compliance
Responsible to provide Building, Property, Manufacture, Handyman and Maintenance Services for Painting, Plumbing, Disposal of non-medical waste, Lifts, Supply and connection of electricity and water, Capentry, Glazing, Maintaining Grounds and building surrounds where required.
Arrange subcontracting to approved vendors, maintain equipment where required by organization.
