Our client, a leading Chrome Mining group, is looking for an experienced and qualified Maintenance Artisan Beltsman with either Fitter or Boilermaker background for their facility in Mooinooi in the North West province.

Maintenance Artisan (Beltsman) - Section 13 Trade qualification.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To safely maintain and replace Belt Conveyor systems and components to ensure the availability of the Conveyor Systems for continues delivering of production. Supervises 4 belt maintenance crews consisting of team leaders and Belt Attendants. Approximately 30 subordinates report to the Beltsman.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Trade Certificate (Section 13 Fitter or Boilermaking)
Beltsman Certificate
Competent A & B
At Least 3 years relevant experience in an incline shaft, preferably 1 year supervisory experience
Installation, maintaining and repairing of these conveyor systems

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAND QUALITY
Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Maintain, Monitor and Report belt conveyor systems:

Remove and replace safety guards as required
Report faulty/malfunctioning of pulley bearings
Gearboxes for noise, oil leaks and report deviation to the foreman
Motors for noise, overheating and report deviation through CSAP to the foreman
Belt arrestor for functioning, record findings and report malfunctioning
Coupling rubbers for vibration and miss alignment
V-belts for damage and report it through CSAP to the foreman
Trip switches for functioning and record finding
Liner plates in chutes for wear and check for bolts to secureness
Belt repairs cuts and tears and fix/ install new belts
Fix runaway belts
Clip joints and splices for wear secureness and replace if necessary
Side skirts and belt scrapers for correct placement and effectiveness and fix adjust.
Lighting and report deviation

MONITOR BELT CONVEYOR SYSTEMS FOR:

Even loading at boxes underground
Size of material
Sources of oversized material
Order and replace worn idlers
Check belt conveyor for correct operation
