Main Purpose

To ensure that the factories are maintained in accordance with agreed maintenance standards resulting in improved plant efficiency and availability

Outputs

Manage plant maintenance, major/ minor shutdowns according to a relevant planned maintenance system
Manage and maintain the utilities function
Maintaining efficiency of plant and understanding that the effectiveness of the equipment is vital for processing as per the SOP’s
Planning and scheduling minor/ major plant shutdown
Successfully implement capex, major maintenance and ad hoc projects
Manage engineering stores
Conduct all statutory inspections to ensure compliance
Ensure all staff are trained including the update of certification in line with OSHACT
Compile annual departmental budget and monitoring (of the budget) thereof, including managing and controlling maintenance expenses
Monitor and trend maintenance spend against industry norms
Manage people performance including training and development

Job Requirements

BSC or Degree (NQF Level 6) – Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
GCC Ticket – Factory
Management Development Program – advantageous
5 years’ experience in similar position in the FMCG industry, focusing on OHSACT responsibilities
