MAINTENANCE FOREMAN (QUARRY), POLOKWANE, RNEG

TRADE FITTER / MILLWRIGHT + 5 YEARS QUARRY / MINE OR CEMENT ENVIRONMENT EXP + EXP MAINTENANCE PLANNING + EXP IN OVERSEEING THE MAINTENANCE & EFFECTIVE INSTALLATION OF ALL ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT.

REPORTS TO QUARRY MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be required to perform various tasks inherent to the position such as:

Participate within and drive the Health and Safety Environmental Programme
Oversee the maintenance and effective installation of all electrical and mechanical equipment
Ensure the correct and efficient implementation and use of the Planned Maintenance System
Co-ordinate the work of the Maintenance Team with production requirements
Plan/co-ordinate services on all mobile equipment
Ensure spares availability
Staff supervision, time keeping and scheduling of overtime
Ensure effectiveness of machinery in order to minimize wastage and downtime and run Preventative Maintenance system
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification or N3 Certificate
• Electrical or Mechanical Trade papers. Preference will be given to trade tested Fitter or Millwright.
• A valid driver's licence
• 5 Years experience in a Multi Trade environment (Quarry or Mine experience preferred)
• Knowledge of Maintenance Planning
• Computer Literate

TECHNICAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate will have :
Excellent knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and principles
Knowledge of testing devices
Understanding of the operation of the Plant and plant processes
Diagnosing, analyzing and reporting skills
Design Plant optimisation
Ability to work independently within set targets
Supervisory and decision making skills
