The successful Maintenance/Engineering Manager will be responsible for the overall running of the plant. You will manage, and supervise a team of Maintenance Engineering staff to ensure optimum performance throughout. The ideal Engineering Manager will utilise TPM principles and Lean Manufacturing to increase efficiency throughout the plant, ensuring tasks are carried out in line with the company safety policies.

Key Duties

-Create and maintain a safe working environment
-Carry out personal development plans with the team to monitor/improve performance
-Regular coaching to team
-Provide additional support to the Engineering/Site teams to ensure high levels of manufacturing
performance
-Participate in site improvement and support Lean manufacturing rollout
-Responsible for the efficient management of the Engineering budget to maximise the business
performance
-Ensure all Maintenance and Engineering plans correspond with the national manufacturing/engineering/
maintenance strategies
-Strive to improve and recognise external developments (legislation/regulatory/technical standard)
-Setting high standards to the team and other managers within the business
-Carry out the management of engineering risks effectively and efficiently
-Reduce/monitor the impact on environmental issues
-Ensure plans are in place to manage the building, plant and other assets of the business
-Support the new CMMS within the business (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
-Manage contractors within company procedures
-Cost reduction where possible/management of budgets
-Delivery of projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc Engineer or N6 qualification with GCC and minimum 3-5 years at a managerial or GCC plus 5 years plant maintenance and projects experience, at least 5 of which at a managerial level; preferably in an FMCG environment.
