MISSIONS
Within the framework of the plant’s objectives and yearly action plans which he helps define, his missions are:
Organise and manage the department’s safety, human, financial and material resources to optimise the quality of its services and its technical and economical performance.
Ensure optimum equipment availability and performance in the short, medium and long term, at minimum cost.
Implement and develop maintenance functions and best practices.
As a member of the plant management team, he contributes to the overall performance improvement of the plant, ensuring coordination and cooperation between his and other departments.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
General Activities/Responsibilities
Is the GMR 2. Appointee for the plant (Responsible Engineer) and ensures the driving of the Health, Safety and environment of department.
Ensures that safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the Maintenance department employees and subcontractors
Helps define the long-term plan, the Advance Performance Improvement Plan, improvement action plans for the whole plant.
Assists in formulating Plant Improvement Plan PIP and develops and reviews team charters.
Assists in defining the annual plant objectives and build departmental key performance areas in support of these objectives.
Prepares and collates the annual departmental budget.
Sets and share Maintenance Department long, medium and short term goals and objectives in line with plant objectives.
Defines, follows up and optimizes maintenance expenses.
Manages the performance of the maintenance department including effective use of key performance indicators.
Ensures adoption and adherence to standards, norms and best practices.
Management and responsibility for the performance of his own team.
Creates and maintains a motivating work environment within the Maintenance Department.
Builds skill development programs for maintenance personnel and evaluate the results.
Ensures regulatory compliance of maintenance activities.
Inform the Maintenance community about local best-practices, difficulties and results.
Contributes to the achievement of production, quality, environment, reliability and utilization targets.
Contributes to the inception, acceptance and integration of new equipment and installations.
Contributes to spares warehouse optimization (in cooperation with other departments concerned).
Validate work requests.
Proposes and plans maintenance major operations.
Contributes to the three year investment plan.
Elaborates and/or update equipment risk assessment.
Champions departmental continuous improvement initiatives (Plant Operating Model and Fit For Future and Lean Methodologies)
Performs any other reasonable tasks when requested by Plant Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS/PROFILE
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Bsc/B-Tech/NDip in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Government Certificate of Competency for factories (GCC).
4-5years experience in maintenance (planning, inspection, execution), running of projects, including shutdown planning).
Manufacturing experience ideal.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Good knowledge of products and manufacturing processes (experience as plant engineer desirable),
In-depth knowledge of maintenance management methods, of predictive inspection tools and of CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System, good knowledge of Maximo Template desirable),
Knowledge of ADAP and good knowledge of problem solving tools.
Knowledge of general mechanical/electrical engineering and industrial automation,
Knowledge of safety laws and regulations,
Experience in the development of quality management methods, for example ISO 9000 and TPM
Computer literacy.
