MAINTENANCE & PROJECT ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST required to provide multidisciplinary engineering and operations skills as well as assist with limited project design work within an FMCG packaging and packing environment.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Makes recommendation for continuous improvement and participates in strategic engineering plans to deliver maintenance benefits 
• Generation of maintenance strategy, execution thereof and ensuring compliance
• Responsible for focus improvements and breakdowns within unit of responsibility 
• Works within defined Engineering and SHE Policies and Standards
• Knowledge of OHS Act and requirements applicable to the work place and machinery
• Engineering: Diagnoses and interprets multi-disciplinary problems (fault finding)
• EM: Reduction of breakdowns and breakdown analysis (Root cause analysis studies)
• Participates in strategic engineering plans
• Problem Solving and Decision Making: Identifies the major engineering losses and investigates relevant methodology.
• Administration: Completes documentation to standard and captures and stores information on relevant data system
• Ensures that Company safety rules and regulations are adhered to maintaining safety and standards in the area on responsibility
• Draws up, Coaches and develops engineering skills to other maintenance and operational staff using

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• At least N4 in Mechanical/ Electrical /Instrumental and Trade Test. B Tech Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentatal) advantageous.
• Experience on packaging machinery.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be flexible within pattern of shift work to accommodate factory shutdowns, training courses etc and emergency cover
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Projects & ability to use software for machinery
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with an ability to interact with senior management
• Ability to manage contract workers
• 5-10 years experience
