Our client in the La Mercy area is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician, to maintain the day-to-day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining the infrastructure, building and physical assets of company.

Qualified Artisan (e.g. Electrician, Millwright, Plumber, etc.) or similar/ equivalent NTC 3 (trades related); There are two (2) vacancies. Although the KPA’s are essentially the same for the two positions, distinctly different skills sets are required: Preference will be given to artisans from the civil and building related trades. Although the applicant may only have one civil-related trade, general, multi-disciplinary experience will be a definite advantage. Skills in locksmith and carpentry will be a further advantage. A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in a general maintenance environment. The applicant must have a valid Code 08/ EB driver’s licence, issued at least one (1) year earlier in order to qualify driving company vehicles. The applicant must be willing to drive company vehicles and experience in driving a 4 x 4 vehicle will be an advantage; Extensive knowledge of OSHA and relevant regulations; Trouble-shooting, root cause analysis and problem solving skills within a technical environment; Equipment maintenance; Manual dexterity; Able to work under pressure, to prioritise and deadline driven; Proactive and excellent customer service orientation; Attention to detail and accuracy;Willingness to go the extra mile, demonstrating

Inspect all company infrastructure and buildings within the Property Operations portfolio to ensure that company facilities are in a good condition;· Inspect and test all equipment in the company buildings and premises to ensure that the equipment is in working order;Keep accurate records of the condition of electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning/ HVAC, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment.
Ensure optimal asset utilisation and care through the implementation of the planned maintenance strategy and plans;• Investigate job cards logged and through route cause analysis, identify immediate response required as well as preventative action to reduce the risk of reoccurrences;· Assess the current condition of electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment.· Regularly inspect each property and ensure that the required maintenance and repairs are completed.· Liaise with relevant parties to ensure all warranties pertaining to equipment and building systems are maintained.· Monitor the end of a warranty, and replace them on expiry.· Attend to reported maintenance requests within acceptable time frames to ensure high level of tenant satisfactionEnsure all building systems are checked regularly and maintained in accordance with supplier specifications · Update property system with jobs carried out and liaise with Facilities Support Administrator to ensure feedback to tenants· Carry out repairs for specific electrical related faults, plumbing faults and other maintenance work· Ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out safely to prevent personal injury or injury to other tenants and/or company staff and in accordance with company Safety & Health Policies· Compile reports on maintenance tasks received and action taken until completion of the work.· Assist in the recording of all monthly electricity and water meter readings in all company buildings and infrastructure;· Complete a spares requisition once spares have been drawn from stores in order to have the buyer procure and replenish stock. · Ensure the required stock levels are maintained.Supervision of Maintenance Assistant/s. Implementation of Safety Health Environment, Project Supervision, The Maintenance Technician must have his/ her own reliable vehicle to fulfill the operational requirements of overtime, standby and callouts.
