Container company are looking for 2 general maintenance technicians to fill positions in our maintenance department, preferably with a plastics back ground, and can work on their own without supervision
Reliable transport to Olifantsfontein will be essential and the successful candidate will be required to work shifts
A technical aptitude and hands on experience will be to your advantage
Theoretical qualifications are not essential
The ideal candidate will be skilled and would have been exposed to the following:
• Arc -welding
• Gas-welding
• Gas-cutting
• Braising
• Fabrication
• Fitting of bearings
• Shaft alignment
• Fitting and alignment of chains
• Gear-boxes and gear alignment
• Water pumps
• Pipe fitting
• Stripping and cleaning of dies
• Drilling
• Tapping
• Grinding with hand held grinder machine
• Cutting with cutting disks, hand held machine
• Workshop safety
• Reading of mechanical drawings
• Reading of electrical drawings
• Electrical fault finding and electrical testing
• Panel wiring
• Electrical instillation, cable and component specifications/ratings
• Heating elements and controllers and programming controllers
• Drives and programming of drives ac and dc set up
• Proximity switches, limits, contractors, relays, timers, counters, encoders
• Dc -motors
• Ac- motors
• Transformers
• Basic plc knowledge
• Basic computer knowledge
• Lighting
• Electrical distribution/reticulation

The position pays R80.00 per hour depending on the skills and experience.
