JOB PURPOSE:
The following are the requirements and responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician. This position is respon-sible preventative and corrective maintenance works within the TETI maintenance department for ITS devices as defined by Teti in a specific region. This position reports to the Regional Maintenance Manager.

Education/Qualifications and Experience:
? Post-Secondary Education – Technologist, Engineering Technician, Technician, or related program (other disciplines may be considered depending on related experience)
? 3 years’ relevant experience
? Experience in CCTV and networks for at least two years in a maintenance environment
? Familiarity with basic network configuration and network fault finding.
? Familiarity with basic fault finding in electronic and electrical environment.
? To be able to perform circuit analysis.
? Basic computer skills required, Microsoft Word and Excel at a minimum.
? Valid driver license EB 1 or EC 1 with own transport to the regional office.
? Read, write and conversant in the English language.

REQUIREMENTS:
? Willingness to work at heights with ladders, scaffolds and a cherry picker.
? Mechanical aptitude.
? Lifting of equipment.
? Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing and walking significant distances.
? Visual ability (uncorrected or corrected) to observe and detect signs of dangerous obstacles at and to verify written information at a close range. Eye tested on a regular basis by an optometrist.
? Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
? Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely.
? Ability to use test equipment such as a multi-meter, Loop impedance test and Earth resistance of ITS device.
? Ability to work independently or with an assistant.
? Report findings on site to Regional manager daily.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

? Performs service/installation of CCTV cameras and other electronic equipment.
? Evaluates diagnoses, troubleshoots systems and perform repairs as necessary.
? Performs upgrades and additions to systems when instructed, to increase functionality and usability.
? Coordinates with administration and other trades for completing projects/work orders efficiently.
? Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations.
? Prepares documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (e.g. daily paperwork/log, time and materials, key and material records, key inventory, etc.) for providing written support in compliance with reg-ulations and/or conveying information.
? Report accurately findings on site to the regional manager or the delegated person.
? Be available to work standby which when required. Standby is planned by the regional manager and the tech-nician shall be available during that predetermined weekend to answer calls and work the required overtime.

? Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for resolving immediate safety concerns.
? Transports a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
? Assists other trades personnel as may be required for supporting them in the completion of their work activi-ties.
? Attends meetings, workshops and training for conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
? Ensure that all missing equipment, tools and machinery is immediately reported.
? Ensure that the abovementioned driver’s license is kept up to date.
? Ensure that regular eye testing is done.
