Job Description:

Applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information which are not supplied by general accounting systems.
Plans, studies and collects data to determine cost of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
Analyses data obtained and records results.
Analyses changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
Analyses actual costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation, forecasts and be able to interpret financial results.
Generate estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
Manage and develop reporting systems.
Conduct special investigations/reports and operating efficiency studies.
Be able to compare factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

Qualifications:

BCom/Financial Degree with Cost Management Accounting 3rd year level completed
2 years relevant experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system experience would be advantageous
Business Intelligence systems knowledge would be advantageous.
Ability to set goals in order to maximize the utility of resources
The ability to translate and execute financial strategies into pragmatic action plans
Systems driven individual who can develop and continuously improve existing systems
Sound business acumen
The ability to work autonomously with regular communication to management and production team
Good interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills at all levels
Comfortable to work in a highly pressurized environment
The ability to apply judgment and act according to the standards of ethics and integrity
