Management Accountant (Open to all)

Area: Roodepoort

Package: negotiable up to R25000 P/m Plus medical aid R500, 13th Cheque, Performance Bonus

Duties:
° Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and other financial reports for management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
° Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable
° Authorise payments after verifying documentation
° Prepare and submit VAT returns
° Process invoices & follow up on debtors
° Conduct month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
° Work with the auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
° Respond to inquiries from the Financial Director, CEO, and other managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests
° Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting & analyzing account information and substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
° Analyse data collected to determine the state of the company’s financial health with graphs for exco meetings
° Collaborate with the department managers to support overall department goals & objectives; and
° Monitor & advise on the progress of established goals and objectives for each year by comparing statements to budgets
° Assist in development and implementation of new processes and systems to improve business efficiency, suggest ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues and improve profits
° Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses, and design & implement processes and systems to eliminate or mitigate potential financial risks
° Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities, provide support and training to new and existing staff as needed, and evaluate employees’ risk awareness within the organization.

Experience & Qualifications
Relevant degree
At least 5 years relevant experience
Staff management experience
Retail experience will be advantageous
Fully bilingual
