A well established water utilities company based in free State (Bothaville) is looking for a Management Accountant.

Minimum requirements: • A degree in Accounting/Finance • Completed articles with an accredited firm • 3 years’ post-article experience in the area of debtors, creditors and payroll management • Working knowledge of accounting packages
• Computer literacy • A valid driver’s licence • The ability to communicate at all levels • Deadline-driven • The ability to analyse and solve problems • An understanding of the PFMA • Ability to implement risk management initiative within the context of debtors and creditors cycles and good control environment.
Major responsibilities: • Monitor and control General Ledgers for Debtors, Creditors and Payroll sections • Review and approve debtors and creditors reconciliations and follow up all reconciling items • Prepare monthly debtors and creditors reports • Release first payment upon review of the payment pack • Manage working capital in terms of the finance Key Performance Indicators • Prepare the Irregular Expenditure and Fruitless and Wasteful Expenditure Register on a monthly basis • Review and approve journals and other adjustments prepared by subordinates • Perform annual review of policies and procedures relating to debtors, creditors and payroll sections • Manage the risk registers for Debtors, Creditors and Payroll Sections • Assist internal and external auditors with information during audits • Manage and supervise staff.
