Management Accountant

Area: Kempton Park

Package: Negotiable up to R475000 CTC P/A

Purpose of the position:
The role as management accountant is to perform a series of tasks to ensure the company’s financial security, handling essentially all financial matters and thus helping to drive the business’s overall management and strategy.

Duties:
• Record financial transactions for project, department, or company
• Prepare financial statements for internal and external use on a monthly basis
• Reconcile spending with budget as part of job costing
• Create company budgets
• Analyze financial performance and forecast longer term horizons
• Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost
• Maintain records and support auditing efforts
• Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions
• Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials
• Manage the company’s tax affairs
• Supervise Accounting Staff
• Manage General Ledger
• Provide insight into business performance
• Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system
• Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems

Requirements and skills:
• The candidate should have the following:
o Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting.
o Three to five year working experience.
o SAP Business 1 experience significant advantage
o Excellent analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
o Experience with manipulating large databases would be an advantage but an above average facility for using Excel will be essential.
o South African Citizen / permanent resident
o Fluent in Afrikaans and English (read, write and speak)
o Background in Manufacturing industry would be an advantage
