Management Accountant
Introduction

Our client is looking for a Management Accountant to review working capital with the Credit Manager, Creditors Team and Logistics Manager to improve and maintain performance within Company and Group expectations.
Description
Education and Minimum Requirements

Matric
Degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a financial or management accounting function
Experience in using SAP
Knowledge of financial accounting principles
Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

Perform the necessary steps to close off the month end
Prepare the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and notes to the financial statements
Analysis of performance against budget and prior year results
Review working capital with the Credit Manager, Creditors Team and Logistics Manager to improve and maintain performance within Company and Group expectations
Prepare GL reconciliations for accounts relating to Inventory, Warranty, and other balance
Sheet accounts that may be required
Other Financial Reports

Monitor all departmental expenses against budget and together with the Department Manager, provide feedback and action plans to mitigate over spend and deliver on saving opportunities
Accurately allocate all project spend to the respective project numbers
Manage the allocation of costs relating to repairs and WIP
Financial Forecasting

Co-ordinate the annual budget preparation activities to ensure an accurate forecast is submitted timeously to Group
Undertake regular communication to ensure information is delivered in a timely manner
Upload and maintain the budget in SAP
Financial Support to Manufacturing

Produce an income statement for the metering division
Review monthly the cost centre reports with the respective managers within the Manufacturing Plant
Prepare and analyse the weekly/monthly labour recovery and productivity
Validate all material productivity reported by Procurement
Participate in the monthly operations review meeting
Support the Logistics Manager during the stock take
Maintain communication within the team and positively contribute to a committed, capable and motivated team
General

Update and maintain the master data for the SAP CO module (cost centres, GL code mapping, cost distribution factors)
Update the DVC of all products monthly. Cost products as required
Calculate the product recovery rates annually. Review over/under recovery against standard rates quarterly and substantiate variances and adjustments
Participate as a member of the CCB and DVC forum
Support the business in daily activities whenever finance expertise is required
Corporate contribution

Constructively participate as a member of the wider team
Undertake any other tasks or one-off projects which may be assigned from time to time
Ensure protection of the company’s commercial interests always and in all circumstances
