KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Develop and build up the Chemical Energetic capability as a strategic extenstion of the company’s international Plant Engineering business
• Recruit and form a strong knowledgeable, multi-disciplinary team from the international and local market to enable a quick success, thus ensuring the establishment of critical technologies in the company
• Lead the core Chemical Plant team to design, develop, construct, commission and integrate chemical production facilities in the Energetic Material Environment
• Implement and offer the new capability to the market through the company’s Sales department, in the fastest possible time
• Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations
• Establish correct specification of process equipment and relevant project documentation
• Search, create and negotiate partnering agreements with industrial partners for the relevant business in South Africa and internationally
• Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition, with the relevant data and calculation sheets for procurement
• Acquires the necessary technology base from which to manufacture company-related chemical plants
• Ensure the implementation of the latest technologies and processes during the design and construction phases of chemical production facilities
• Provide innovate solutions, as alternatives, to the current product offering and to match international standards
• Develop control narratives and philosophy documentation
• Monitor construction and commissioning execution
• Develop and implement design technology to maintain and improve performance of plant and equipment
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in the chemical plant
• Directs maintenance of plants and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery

POST REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Beng/BSc Chemical Engineering or similar qualification
• A minimum of 10 years applicable experience in chemical plant construction / engineering.
• Experience with Change Management processes and Project Management
• Demonstrated experience with interaction with clients
• Must have advanced knowledge of engineering and engineering design principles
• Must have advanced understanding of contract management principles
• Must have strong analytical and negotiating skills
• Demonstrated experience in managing a business division, forming and leading a successful high-calibre team
