Our client in the Engineering industry are looking to hire a Senior Supply Chain Manager.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure that the requirements of Company with regard to the procurement of components (local and overseas) and/or services are correctly and timeously, all within the broader guidelines of Company Policies and Code of Conduct.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA
• Procurement representative on project meetings as well as single point of entry for the clients within Procurement.
• Quotations for internal clients.
• Support to Production, Engineering and Programmes.
• Project meetings with Procurement personnel.
• Draw up plans of execution for each project.
• Determine manufacturability of newly designed components consulting with the Procurement personnel.
• Planning of the procurement task as per system demand and according to the Procurement procedures, -task description and Company delegations.
• Obtaining and evaluating of competitive quotations.
• Procurement of items and/or services according to the Procurement procedures, -task description and Company delegations.
• Timeous negotiation, placement and management of contracts and orders.
• Acceptance and release of procured items and/or services.
• Supplier selection, evaluation and development.
• Engineering change inputs and implementation.
• General office management and administration.
• Design review inputs.
• Quality requirements.
• Procurement data basis.
• Personnel support and development. Integration of functions.


CRITICAL SKILLS
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Good manufacturing and technical knowledge and skills.
• Excellent MRP knowledge: MRP II, configuration management, material management.
• Wide product knowledge of products in Company.
• Proven contract execution skills.
• Thorough working knowledge of Q- Muzik.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Specific financial knowledge.
• Cost estimating experience.
• Quality Course and experience.
• Company acceptance accreditation and experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Supply Chain Degree or similar qualification. Postgraduate qualification.
• Personnel Management Course and experience.
• Project Management Course and experience.
• Must be able to work under pressure and keep to target dates.
• Must be a person of high integrity.
• Must be able to function independently as well as in a team.
• Proven procurement experience of at least 5 years.
• Quick reaction on requirements and ability to handle conflict.
5 Years proven project management experience.
• Valid drivers license (code EB).
