Please note the following minimum essential requirements:

Qualifications:

• BSc Hons Degree (NQF Level 8) in Geology (Essential)
• Post Graduate Qualifications in Human Resources /MBA /MBL/Senior Management/Leadership or equivalent (Recommended)

Experience:

• Minimum of eight (8) years operational Mining Geology experience (Essential)
• Minimum of two (2) years management Mining Geology experience (Essential)
• Minimum of five (5) years operational Commodity specific (Iron Ore) exposure (Essential) MUST HAVE IRON ORE EXPERIENCE
(Also need to have experience on mine planning, geology and rock breaking)
• Minimum of two (2) years management of commodity specific (Iron Ore) exposure (Essential)
• Minimum of two (2) years people management experience (Essential)
(Total of ten (10) years’ experience)

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Computer literacy - Mine Planning Software packages: Surpac, Mineshed, Microstation, Mine RP, Whittle, Datamine
• Legislation
• Geology
• Database
• Mine planning
• Mine operations
• Sensitivity scenario planning and analysing
• People management

Other Requirements

• A valid driver’s license
• Only RSA Citizens
• Medically fit for duty

Job Purpose

• To maximise shareholder wealth by managing and coordinating the accurate prediction ad control of mineral resources at mine
• To ensure adequate natural resources (ore) which can be planned optimally for mining
• To manage the efficient control of the ore and ensure confident ore planning
