Educational requirements & experience needed:

• Matric
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in:
? At least 2 years’ Legal Collections; (Corporate & Consumer)
? Credit Control (Corporate & Consumer)

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Management role with a team of at least 10
• Tertiary qualification in Credit Management
Key Responsibility Areas:

Authorization of financial documents, journals, debit and/or credit notes within mandate.
Effective Management and Control of the allocated debtors books and ensure the set financial targets are achieved
To deliver an efficient and effective service to both internal and external clients at all times
Manage services provided to customers by all team members ensuring professional interaction at all times and adherence to relevant SOP's & SLA's
Oversee and control the panel of Attorneys ensuring cost containment and effective service delivery
Respond to escalated queries and resolve successfully (internal and external)
Visiting customers as and when required to maintain relationship or resolve problems or respond to queries
Manage targets for respective books and internal teams and review from time to time to ensure optimal efficiencies and take corrective action to avoid reoccurrence
Provide accurate and appropriate feedback, reports and statistics to management as per the specified time lines
Develop and maintain a comprehensive legal credit control policy and procedures covering all aspects of legal and pre legal credit.
Being aware of any changes in law relating to credit control
Ensure that all policies and procedures of the department/company are adhered to.
Regular staff meetings to ensure everyone is aware of and support goals and targets and dealing with staff matters as it transpires in team sessions
Identify, understand and manage personal development requirements as well as among team members
Ensure successful Human Capital Resource management including but not limited to resource planning, recruitment, development, management, communication, motivation and industrial relations




Knowledge and skills

• Skilled in the identification of opportunities / ideas to improve operational efficiencies
• Able to analyse debtors books under his/her control to maximize collection bad debt written off
• Good interpersonal & time management skills.
• A sound knowledge of collections and litigation processes including deceased estates, insolvencies / liquidations.
• Knowledge to perform reconciliations
• Ability to effectively prioritize and organize workflow.
• Proven communication skills, telephonic and written.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Advanced Computer literacy: MS Office & Excel.
• Working knowledge of CRM & AX applications will be advantageous
• Strong Customer service skills
• Excellent negotiating skills
• Attention to detail
Special requirements:
• Able to work after hours when required or requested
• Drivers license
• Working week: Monday – Friday, 08:00- 16:45
• Occasional travel throughout South Africa to problematic account holders
• Clear Criminal & ICT records
