Perusing drafting and negotiating procurement contracts Offering legal advice Perusing tender documents and formulating tender conditions Negotiating contracts Formulating contractual claims Drafting contracts Extensive knowledge of procurement contracts, and knowledge of forms of construction contracts Contract risk analysis Negotiation experience to finalise contracts Ability to rapidly determine key issues in any conflict/ dispute Liaising with external attorneys to ensure consistent service levels Providing general legal advice on labour issues in a unionized environment. Assist with Labour Relations - coordinating the implementation of Labour legislation, provide technical advice in preparing for annual wage mandating processing and collective bargaining negotiations. Participating in conciliation and arbitration at the CCMA. Assist with policy development in line with the interpretation and application of Labour legislation. Develop and expand knowledge of the company’s legal risk Negotiate all forms of contracts (including mergers and acquisition) Review contracts, outside South Africa Review some legal agreements and recommends for approval to the board Expand and grow knowledge of the company, industry and client base Qualifications: • Mininum requirements: Legal degree (LLB or Bcom LLB) • Must be an Admitted Attorney Experience: Must have completed Articles as Candidate attorney. 2 – 3 years’ relevant post article experience as a practicing attorney or legal advisor. 5 years relevant post articles experience Demonstrable evidence of having worked in a role requiring extensive and continuous interaction with various internal (i.e. within the firm) and external (i.e. clients) stakeholders in delivery of objectives Special Requirements: • Ability to convey legal opinion and argue legally. • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills. • Integrity to deal with confidential information. • Proven business writing skills. • Team player. • Concern for excellence. • Action and results driven. • Demonstrable appreciation of basic corporate strategy • Ability to perform under pressure with high attention to detail • Capable of acting on own initiative/self-disciplined • Capable of acting as a fully participative, team member • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Willingness and capability to handle a challenging, demanding job with long hours • Understanding of international law and cross border legal
