We are currently looking for an Ocean Freight Manager for one of our well established clients based in Durban.
Candidate must have a strong operational background with Imports Exports & Forwarding.

Requirements:

5-10 years’ relevant experience managing an ocean freight function
Comprehensive knowledge of International Ocean Industry and sales processes
Relevant Technical and Industry experience

Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare an action plan and forecast for each targeted Key Account Client

Establish and develop a network with potential and existing customers or key accounts and increase revenue through the identification of opportunities for growing current client business to achieve sales targets and results.

Provide visible support in resolving client concerns and challenges .

Ensure high level service delivery

Coordinate and assist with the on going Ocean Freight Projects and provide active daily support to expedite operations related to Ocean Freight.

Administer and maintain the Ocean freight rate schedules, taking cognisance of buying and selling trends on an individual carrier and customer basis while collaborating with the pricing team in respect of the calculation of cost structures

Develop and establish relationships with internal teams

Increase confidence in and the reputation of the business in respect of all stakeholders while driving brand awareness and loyalty to clients.

Lead the Ocean Freight team through coaching, developing and motivating subordinates including follow-up of team and individual performance against targets and objectives aligned with overall company strategy.

Proactively ensure that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with current legal & company specific regulations including adhering to ISO procedures and report on monthly KPI’s & Event Controls.
