We are looking for a Manager to run a Bagging Plant in Richards Bay.
The person should have experience in Modern bagging plants and material handling systems in a warehousing/fertilizer company.

Job Title - Manager Bagging Plant

Job Description Working on a state-of-the-art, fully automated bagging, blending and coating plant. The plant will be bagging mainly 25kg; 50 kg and 1 ton bags of fertilizer.
• Oversee and organize the daily operations of manufacturing plant.
• Directs the bagging supervisors -
o to coordinate activities of workers engaged in mixing, weighing, and bagging fertilizer materials.
o in bagging; weighing and storing of finished product.
o To oversee employees, production and efficiency, to make sure the plant is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely.
• Achieve production as per planned daily requirement.
• Performance Management & productivity - Maintain optimum operation by assigning workers, creating and keeping work and production schedules, hiring and training new employees, collecting and looking through data to find places of waste or places of improvement, keep an eye on worker safety and plant safety, monitor the production equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order, and repair or replace the equipment when needed.
• Quality control - Last line of defense for when the item manufactured leaves the plant.
• Coordinate the daily planning meeting with the Orders Officer, Bagging Production Staff, Warehouse Operator and Transport Coordinator. Communicate with other departments or parts of the plant to make sure everything runs smoothly.
• Budgetary Controls. Ensure maintenance of all records, sending MIS in time and attending to queries.
• Ensure Safety and Discipline
• Goods House-keeping and cleanliness
• Ensuring planning & implementation of preventive maintenance and lubrication schedules for equipment.
• Maintains inventory of tools, equipment, and materials in storage.
• Trains workers in operation of equipment.
Experience
• 5 - 10 Years
• Good IT skills: Experience with systems that run with SCADA and Wonderware InTouch graphic visualization software or other Online monitoring system. Computer Skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Worked with Automatic Weighing And Bagging machines
• Gross Weigh Open Mouth Bagging Plants
• Blending and coating
• Previous experience with Urea and Fertilizer
• ?Understanding of aggregates industry & packed products: 2 year
• Good leadship skills: 5 year
• Ability to manage contractors: 1 year
• Self-motivated
• Interpersonal Skills: ability to speak with employees, other department managers and senior management.
• Leadership Skills: ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly.
• Time Management: ability face production deadlines, shipping dates and more and must manage their time accordingly.
• Problem-Solving Skills: ability to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the production line.
Salary: R25k to 35k - negotiable and dependent on experience
