The primary role of the Smelter and Refinery Maintenance Manager is to manage the maintenance of the Smelter and Refinery Department by ensuring that objectives are met in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Formulate, plan and execute maintenance strategies to assist with the delivery of the production plan.
• Manage project safety procedures and practices.
• Accountability for the comprehensive cost control and budgetary requirements.
• Management of equipment maintenance at the lowest possible cost without compromising quality and safety.
• Ensure legal compliance of equipment to the relevant safety standards.
• Provision of recommendations for improved maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Develop, coach and/or mentor future leaders within the smelter.

Qualifications and Experience:

• N Dip Eng / B. Eng – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC)
• Minimum of 7 years proven operations maintenance experience (at least 4 of these years at maintenance superintendent level).
• Experience in maintenance of smelter/hot metal production plant equipment
• Experience in maintenance of sulphuric acid plants and turbo generators would be advantageous.
• SAP knowledge would be an added advantage.
