Qualification & Experience Requirements

• Qualified CA or Admitted Attorney, LLB (Postgraduate studies in Tax is desirable)
• A minimum of 5-7 years tax experience in a similar environment, including at least 2 - 3 years of TP and/or VCT experience. A background in economics is desirable but not essential.

Job Description

We are looking for a Manager in order to meet the continually growing demand for the team’s specialist transfer pricing (“TP”) services. We are looking for self-starting individuals who are happy with responsibility and want to work in a dynamic environment, and have the flexibility to work on multiple engagements with different teams on a simultaneous basis.

The base salary on offer will be dependent on the level of experience the individuals possess. There are flexible benefits and the opportunity for performance related bonuses.

Role/Job Description

The TPVCT team has experienced strong growth in the last year, providing opportunities for significant progression and development as well as opportunities for overseas secondments to the UK to support development as well as the growth of the PwC global network.
The TPVCT team work on projects with inbound and outbound multinationals involving major business restructuring and transformation. Overall, the work undertaken by the TP/VCT team encompasses all aspects of TP and VCT from planning, through defence and implementation.
PwC's TP practice has been consistently ranked as the leading practice by the International Tax Review. We have expert teams across the world comprising over 600 specialists in economics, accounting, project management and tax law. This combination of experience enables us to develop innovative approaches to TP issues.

Particular focus areas include

• Liaising with clients and colleagues to provide TP & VCT consulting services;
• Providing advice & support that adds value to clients’ businesses;
• Taking a lead on proposing for and producing TP documentation;
• Reviewing the tax impact of client operating models and advising on business transformation & reconstruction;
• Assisting with client dispute resolution and SARS queries;
• Keeping up to date and leading the debate with clients/internally on the OECD BEPS agenda;
• Managing a range of assignments reporting directly to Associate Directors and Partners;
• Where appropriate, act as a main client contact on a portfolio of clients;
• Preparing/reviewing exchange control applications, including preparing fair and market related certificates for exchange control purposes;
• Expanding professional network internally and externally – within SA, across Sub Saharan Africa and globally;
• Management of billings, debtors and assignment budgeting;
• Compliance with risk management procedures;
• Where appropriate, managing the performance of the client team.
