Qualification
• BSc Eng (Civil) or BTech (Geotechnical Engineering)
• Preference will be given to candidate or registered Professional Engineers/Technologists
• Experience
• 10 Years applicable experience in tailings will be required

Responsibilities
• Implement, improve and manage an integrated risk management system (“TORAS”) for all tailings operations
• Monitor and report on technical risks by means of ongoing technical audits
• Facilitate risk assessments on facilities identified
• Develop and agree risk mitigation measures
• Provide assurance that data submissions are accurate
• Assess operational needs on an ongoing basis in terms of services provided, training and continuous improvement
• Manage internal technical courses (MRD101 and MRD201)
• Undertake technical assessments of tailings operations including stability assessments, life assessments, water balance etc.
• Preparation of technical audit reports
• Undertake studies and designs related to the construction, development and closure of tailings facilities
• Ensure continuous improvement to optimize the effective functioning of the technical risk unit
• Work closely with Operations on contracts to ensure that appropriate estimations have been made and accurate costings are submitted for project deliverables and performance
• Deliver on the value proposition to FA Operations as per agreed scope of work
• Function within FA and Client SHEQ standards and procedures
• Suggest improvements and corrective actions where appropriate
