Managing Director – Creative Agency
Location: Sea Point, Cape Town
Salary: R440k - R660k per annum
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial position within a marketing or creative agency
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a staff of more than 15 people
  • Excellent understanding of Social media, PR, Graphic design, Copywriting, and Event Management Microsoft Office and most online CRM and administration tools (Google drive, Toggl, salesforce)
  • Skilled at basic bookkeeping, and forecasting. 
  • Highly motivated and motivational, happy, people’s person, outgoing with High EQ
  • Well rounded, Entrepreneurial and a problem solver (under immense pressure)
  • An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques
  • A very high level of commercial awareness
  • Leadership skills, excellent communication skills, excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
 
Duties:
New Business Acquisition 
Conducting introductions with esteemed brands, companies and other agencies that could potentially lead to business and beneficial opportunities
Assisting the heads of all departments in ‘closing’ important potential deals.
Workflow and Process Management  
Spending time with each department head once a week to determine:
Monthly departmental turnover and profit
How better to achieve allocated targets
Post-project recons to ensure all payments and income are correct
Ensuring that the following systems which management has put into place are being used by all staff
Staff and Resource Management  
Staff induction, mentoring, training, management, incentives and conducting performance reviews every 3 months to ensure each staff member is performing to his/her optimal levels.
Put processes in place for staff role adjustments, goal realignments or removal from the company, if and when the need arises, depending on your monitoring and reviews. 
Hiring or sourcing of appropriate additional resources    
Research into industry leaders
Investigation and enquiry into their t/o, growth and clients
Meeting with key suppliers (digital, production, staffing, set building, social media etc)
Monthly reviews on departments and staff
1 x 1-on-1 check-in takes place with each staff member each fortnight
Client work  
Take briefs from important through-the-line clients and brief in the appropriate Account Manager & department heads.
Conduct final Quality Control review of major projects before they get sent out, ensuring chronological order and pertinent to the client’s industry and desired outcome.
Post-project analysis of the success/lack of success of the project, and advising what adjustments could be made moving forward.
Handing over of successful project metrics to the sales team, in order to better the sales pitch deck.
