MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

SETA seeks to employ a suitably qualified and competent Marketing and Communications Manager. The successful incumbent will be based at Head Office (Midrand) and will report to the Senior Manager: Corporate Services.

The SETA’s period of establishment (License) is from 01 April 2011 to 31 March 2018.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BCom. degree in Marketing and Communication (NQF 7/8)
• At least five years working experience in a marketing and communication environment;
• Proven track record in managing and dealing with the media, publications and advertising industries
• A valid driver’s license and own car and willingness to travel extensively throughout the country
• Previous exposure / experience of a SETA environment advantageous

ATTRIBUTES:

• Sound knowledge and experience in Public Relations and stakeholder relationship management
• Exceptional advocacy, networking, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate independently, strong decision-making, leadership and co-ordinating skills; ability to work under pressure

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Oversee daily operations of the Marketing and Communications business unit
• Identify challenges and opportunities within the SETA, develop and implement the SETA Marketing, Communication and Public Relations strategy and programme
• Create a highly visible organisational profile and maintain a positive image
• Build effective relationships with key stakeholders from community, public and media, ensuring meaningful and healthy engagement
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder and media contact database
• Create the SETA Brand and promote the identity through the branded promotional, marketing and communication materials and platforms
• Communicate and market the SETA products and services through the website, newsletter, press releases, public announcements and other related publications and programmes
• Ensure effectiveness and maintenance of the social media network links
• Liaise with divisions to ensure that the marketing and communication products and services are well communicated and effectively synchronised throughout the SETA.
