Leading South African online retailers of furniture, bedding and decor is seeking a young, energetic and creative MARKETING ASSISTANT to help take two prestigious retail groups to new heights with innovative ideas and strategies. Candidate must be willing to travel occasionally, work weekends and overtime as expected of them.

The person must be an independent and creative thinker, incredibly proactive and well-organised. The key goal is to explore unique and effective ways to increase brand awareness and maximise sales by understanding the impact of the marketing strategy across the business.

Qualifications and Preferable Experience Required:
• Appropriate tertiary qualification (B degree or equivalent in marketing and /or communications)
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, Facebook Ads Manager, Social Media Channels and Mailchimp
• Experience in an E-commerce environment
• A portfolio of work that demonstrates creative and copywriting ability

Candidate will be expected to:
• Demonstrate an understanding of the broader concepts of brand building, marketing, communications, creativity and innovation;
• Apply a brand-business approach to brand and marketing
• Demonstrate the ability to think creatively, innovatively and strategically;
• Develop realistic and integrated brand communication plans and objectives.
• Help to manage content development
• Liaise with media & press, blogger network, photographers
• Help manage social media channels
