Job Purpose:
Run a dynamic social media content plan and assist the Supervisor - Marketing with skilled and creative written English content. The ultimate objective of the position is to promote the brand while developing new leads and growing customer acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing
- Manage our Preferred Supplier agreements for social media and digital content.
- Support a digital strategy, with supporting tools, processes and systems that will optimise the performance of the Client’s marketing division in the digital sphere.
- Drive innovative and highly effective digital marketing strategies that positions the Client as a leading brand in the Southern African tourism sector.
- Build and maintain the company’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, travel blogs and other appropriate platforms.
- Conceptualise and execute effective, brand-appropriate digital campaigns (web, social, mobile, CRM, SEO) that will raise brand awareness and encourage social engagement.
- Integrate with the Sales teams to ensure that we run effective digital campaigns which complement our sales processes and strategies.
- Develop and recommend new approaches to customer acquisition and conversion through a variety of digital media.
- Develop real-time, rapid, tactical digital campaigns in response to changing developments.
- Generate leads through digital channels.
- Understand and provide insights into online customer behaviour.
- Attend several tradeshows within the travel industry to build friendships with suppliers, uphold the brand reputation, gain new contacts for our database and post to social media about the immediate happenings.
- Monitor and manage Clients’ online reputation and alert the Supervisor - Marketing of any adverse reporting or negative messaging.
- Create skilled written English content for the Clients blog, newsletter and website.
- Assist with preparing text for traditional marketing material, e.g. brochures, flyers, catalogues, etc.
- Work with the Product Developer to create new and creative packages.
- Be self-motivated to write new content revolving around preferred suppliers and countries we sell.
- Write articles on request for digital paid advertising on travel news platforms.
Support:
- Contribute to the company’s database using contacts supplied by Sales team and overseas representatives using an existing template in MailChimp – send out notifications to our agents as well as special mails.
- Manage, distribute and count stock in Marketing storeroom.
- Update and optimise the company website when needed.
- Source promotional material for trade-shows, company events and coordinate the build and design of company stands, where required.
- Manage appointment calendars for national and international trade-shows.
- Assist in preparing presentations and supporting marketing material for senior management visits.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Filter relevant day-to-day information from the marketing team to the Marketing Manager / BDM on a weekly basis.
- Support the decision-making process of senior management by giving appropriate input.
- Keep all information obtained from management confidential unless explicitly told otherwise.
- Be a brand ambassador for the company both internally and externally.
