Marketing Co-Ordinator – Sandton City – Johannesburg
A large medallion & coin brokerage are currently looking to employ a well presented, well spoken, professional and creative marketing co-ordinator to start immediately or as soon as possible.
Salary: R25 000 – R30 000 per month depending on experience

Critical that the person can use own initiative, cope with constant change, work independently and implement marketing strategies. Co-ordinates the marketing and advertising campaigns under the supervision of the Group Operations and Marketing Manager for all the Group brands. This entails ensuring that creative traffic, marketing material, production, administration support and measurements are in place as they should be for these brands. Functions such as scheduling creative work, tracking sales data; maintaining promotional materials inventory; production quotes and briefing, planning meetings, and trade shows; maintaining databases and compiling reports fall into this role.

Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
A degree or diploma in marketing
Experience in auction and/or luxury goods industry is preferable
Sound marketing knowledge and skills
Ability to co-ordinate multiple activities to meet deadlines and programmes
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite Programmes
Able to multi-task, prioritise and think

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Analysing, Planning and Updating
Participates in the development of a Marketing Plan for the relevant brands by collecting information, analysing stats and recommending tactics and actions.
Compiles marketing plan as directed and after obtaining all the necessary input from key stakeholders and line function
Ensures that the approved marketing plan is implemented according to policies, programme, standards, budgets and deadlines
Plans and schedules design and copywriting team including briefing the team, ensuring timeous delivery of creative work, re-briefs and obtaining approvals from various stakeholders
Obtaining production quotes, obtaining approval, briefing the production houses and ensuring delivery of material to these production houses
Ensuring the timeous delivery of produced work from suppliers and liaising with logistics for the timeous and accurate sending of the material so as to meet promotional deadlines
Collects sales data related to auctions, events, campaigns and promotions to determine Returns on Investments
Prepares marketing reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising sales data. Adds value to reports by commenting on qualitative issues and making recommendations
Ensures all quotes and invoices are filed, approved and submitted for payment. Keeps track of expenditure against the budget and prepares for the BU report meetings with finance
Supports sales staff by providing sales data, market trends, forecasts, account analyses, new product information as well as relaying client services’ requests to them
Researches competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, advertising and maintaining research databases
Plans meetings and events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities as well as reading trade publications
Accomplishes organisation goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Costing and Production
Works with the Group Operations and Marketing Manager and CEO to provide accurate price quotes to meet budgets
Oversees and approves projects whilst in production to ensure the desired outcome
Escalates concerns or problems to Business Development Director
Continually seeks to improve efficiencies and costs in conjunction with the Business Development Director
Compiles all marketing invoices for the Finance Division with all relevant documents i.e.: quotes, approvals and proof of material
Does all the media booking

Supplier and Stakeholder Management
Builds good working relationships with stakeholders such as the marketing team, GM’s, divisional managers, sales teams, printers and agencies
Maintains a professional supplier relationship across all brands

Projects and General Marketing Functions
Participates in projects, planning sessions and marketing initiatives as required
Undertakes marketing exercises as delegated by line manager or requested
Works as a team on other projects to accomplish objectives and meet timelines as necessary
Assists in events held across all brands from requests for quotes, bookings and final implementation

Critical Success Factors
Ensures that marketing campaigns, promotions and store collateral are timeous and attract the appropriate audiences
Marketing for various brands to be achieved within budget and programme for the year. To seek out synergies wherever possible
Accurate marketing stats and reports to key stakeholder on promotion/campaigns/events
