Our Client is looking for a candidate that has a passion for writing, public relations, communications and initiating and implementing marketing and communications strategies. The preferred candidate will initiate, implement and manage the overall marketing strategy in line with the organisation’s business strategy.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The design and implementation of various marketing; communications; public relations strategies in support of the organisation’s business strategies and specific fundraising activities and campaigns.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing, Communications and PR

* Compile and implement the overall marketing strategy for the organisation, as well as strategies for the various events and campaigns, and collate and analyse the results
* Manage all social media profiles and drive traffic to the website or relevant campaigns and events
* Compile the content for the monthly newsletter and annual report, and other marketing and communications materials
* Write weekly blog articles
* Write weekly posts for our various social media platforms
* Respond to all media / general queries
* Write press releases as and when required
* Act as the company spokesperson as and when required
* Build relationships with the media and keep a spreadsheet of all media contacts
* Create and update a publicity synopsis for all marketing activities post event
* Generate pro bono publicity for the Organisation throughout the year
* Oversee content production of all marketing and communication material – internal and external
* Ensure that major donors and partners receive relevant exposure via the Organisations communication channels
* Provide donors (as and when needed) with stories about the Organisations Beneficiary Organisations
* Act as custodian of the FoodForward SA brand identity internally and externally
* Manage the workflow from advertising agencies, including drafting briefs, managing deadlines and providing feedback
* Develop and maintain the Photo Bank / Permissions

Fund Development Support

* Compile information for donor reports as and when required
* Support and assist the FD team with promotions, event planning and activation

General Functions

* Contribute to the stewardship document development and updating
* Compile creative annual reports, creative writing for the newsletter, blogging and vlogging

Key Qualification

* Degree / Diploma in Marketing, PR & Communications
* Minimum of 5 – 8 years’ proven experience in the fields of marketing, PR, and communications
* Proven experience in compiling various marketing materials
* Ability to work across various digital platforms
* Advanced MS Office and proficient in the use of modern technology
* Graphic design experience an advantage
* Experience in the NPO environment preferable
