PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• Under the coordination of the Director Sales & Marketing, and in collaboration with client Sales Managers and Products Specialists, contribute to the development and execution of the Marketing Activity Plan to secure increased growth and profitability for the group of companies in the region of responsibility.
• Maximise business opportunity for the company and achieve the required business growth through realisation of allocated targets and active engagement in measurable Sales & Marketing related activities as prescribed in the Mission Review Statement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assume the role of Marketing Specialist, consolidating knowledge gained through experience together with an on-going and self-motivated approach towards continuous learning in the broader field of product and corporate marketing.
• Key member of the Regional Sales & Marketing team, responsible for the achievement of marketing objective (consolidated across all Group sales territories).
• Actively participate and contribute to the development and implementation of the annual Marketing Activity Plan. Coordinate input in the form of Sales Release (SR) schedules & information, product development plans, demo equipment requirements and promotional materials (e.g. adverts, success stories, technical articles, reference lists etc.) as required by Sales Managers and Product Specialists.
• Executing the Marketing Activity Plan, achieving key performance indicators as outlined in the Mission Review Statement.
• Establish and sustain strong working relationships with key members of the Regional Marketing team (Middle East & Africa, RHQ) and the Global Marketing team ( Headquarters Tokyo, YHQ).
• Assume responsibility as the window person for the exchange of marketing information between sales teams (New Product/Sales Release, Success Stories, Marketing/Promotional Materials, Events etc.).
• Report to the Director Sales & Marketing and inform/consult with Regional Sales/EPC /Systems/Services Managers and Product Specialists monthly or as required on marketing activities, objectives and results.
• Providing regular progress reports on planned and completed initiatives to the Marketing Committee.
• Support the HR Manager and Managing Director with ad hoc employee focused promotions and events.
• Observe compliance with company branding and marketing protocol and ensure product presentations to customers (i.e. Power Point presentations, demo equipment, and marketing collateral) comply with such requirements.
• Plan, coordinate and actively participate in marketing events including Product Launches, Exhibitions, Conferences and Roadshows. Coordinate the preparation/presentation of subject matter materials and product demos at such events as required.
• Coordinate input and ensure regular updating of the websites to ensure fresh representation of activities, promotions, success stories, etc in area of responsibility.
• Coordinate input, formatting and procurement of editorial content and advertisements in industry magazines (printed and soft form) and acquire pre-approval as required by Client marketing policies & procedures.
• Coordinate selection, procurement and distribution of promotional material (i.e. branded clothing, stationary, calendars, etc) as approved in Marketing Plan.
• Coordinate input, formatting and procurement of business cards for all personnel in region of responsibility.
• Coordinate selection, procurement and general management of external service providers contracted for the execution of marketing objectives (as authorized by the Director Sales & Marketing).
• Maintain control and distribution of latest available revisions of all Client marketing materials, in soft and printed form including GS Sheets, Sales Bulletins, Technical Information Bulletins, White Papers, Success Stories etc.
• Maintain control and coordinate updates of the comprehensive portfolio of the latest PowerPoint presentation materials for the Client Products & Solutions, as designated on the company server.
• Maintain record of expenditure and performance against budget and regularly advise Director Sales & Marketing on response plan.
• Align with Client business systems (CRM) to ensure regular updating of customer contact information, such that promotional events, publications and customer surveys can be routed effectively.
• Acquaint oneself with customer policies and guidelines with respect to gifting and entertainment activities.
• Fully understand and align oneself with Client Goals, Mission and Objectives.
• Familiarise oneself with and display a solid understanding of Client full range of Products, Solutions and Services.
• Professionalism and projection of a proper image of the company and the Marketing Specialist role at all times.
• Be fully informed about the functions, capabilities and work processes of all business units within the Client affiliate.
• Contribute to the well-being of the company by maintaining positive working relations with colleagues and members of support structures.

• Protect the organisation’s values by keeping information confidential.
• Acquaint oneself with and strictly adhere to the following Client policy documents in order to align oneself with corporate objectives:

• Abide by the company’s health and safety policy by ensuring the following:
- Must execute work in such a way so as to not endanger himself/herself or others.
- Must inform himself/herself about Health and Safety instructions and procedures and participate in organised training.
- Must take care of optimal working conditions by using equipment in the correct manner and in accordance with instructions.
- Must alert noticed dangers to the managerial staff.

• Carry out, in addition to day-to-day sales activities, any tasks as deemed necessary by the Director Sales & Marketing or senior managers and respond positively to any other reasonable request pertaining to the job.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Outstanding creative acumen in the field of technical product/services marketing.
• Technically astute in field of expertise with the ability to network with people at all levels, within and external to the organisation.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS

Essential :

• Diploma in Marketing OR Tertiary qualification with ability to demonstrate desired level of expertise.
• Full PC, expert Microsoft Office package and e-mail literacy.
Desirable :
• Proficient in desktop publishing platforms i.e .Photoshop.

EXPERIENCE

Essential :
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in marketing of technical (OEM) products and services.
• Proven success in customer relationship management, product promotions, coordinating promotional events, advertising, publishing and web site maintenance.
• Proven performance with budgetary management and accountability.
Desirable :
• Proven experience in marketing technical products and services to Oil &Gas, Petrochem, Mining and other process industry customers.
• Working knowledge of marketing Industrial Automation products and services.
