The successful candidate will be responsible for material planning by performing planning runs (MRP), analysing stock availability on SAP versus BOM requirements and using the Master Production Schedule to ensure co-ordination of demand and supply. He/she will be responsible for placing and processing orders on suppliers and to expedite these orders to ensure correct administration and handling of Purchase orders right through to final filing. He/she will make contact with suppliers with regards to quotes; purchase orders confirmation; price discussions; on time delivery and supplier enquiries and ensure weekly follow-up and communication with suppliers with regard to outstanding deliveries of material; price analysis and cost management to ensure continuous price improvements for the company. The candidate will actively search for suppliers with the necessary skills, quality and product knowledge that would best fit the company’s requirements.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
The candidate must have a grade 12 certificate and a National Diploma or relevant degree (preferably in Purchasing/Planning/Supply Chain). A technical buying background and the ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications, at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing industry or engineering environment, must be computer literate(MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and SAP MM (purchasing). The candidate must have Purchasing and Contracts management experience and be able to liaise and negotiate with suppliers and show strong ethical behaviour and excellent communication skills.
