Meat Trader (French Speaking) – Cape Town

A well-established International Fresh Produce Logistics company requires a Meat Trader for their Cape Town Branch. The individual will source, consolidating, preparing and communicating relevant information to clients; following up on orders and developing existing and new business within policies and guidelines of the company. Please note that this role is open to candidates who are French speaking and must have a valid visa or work permit.
Must be able to Travel in the West African Countries.

Minimum requirements:
• Matric, with Tertiary qualification in Logistics / Business Administration or equivalent.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in both English and French.
• Must be able to Purchase and Sell meat
• Previous experience as an International Meat Trader
• Proven track record within the industry.
• Sound understanding of Imports and Exports is essential.
• Basic computer skills are essential.
• Must be results driven.
• Must be able to Travel to the West African Countries

Responsibilities:
• Identifying key growth areas with regards to the product range within the International Meat Industry.
• Liaising with suppliers on the availability of various produce available for clients.
• Liaising with clients regarding shipments, market prices and trends.
• Setting up and maintaining large cold chains in developed and developing countries to accommodate suppliers and clients.
• Actively negotiating prices with clients as well as suppliers on a regular basis according to the local exchange rates.
• Managing stock levels as well as finalising account sales to provide producers with quality feedback from the clients.
• Managing large accounts both nationally and internationally
• Creating purchase orders on the accounting system and ensuring the appropriate management approval is received.
• Ensuring the accuracy of orders and tracking orders from placement up to final arrival at the warehouse.
