Mechanical Engineer EE
R800 000 CTC per annum

International mining Giant is looking to fill the above mentioned position with a Seasoned Technical engineer. You must have holistic view and passion for engineering.

Minimum Skills required
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or B-Eng
• 5-7 Years’ experience in engineering design, machine applications and mining industry;
• Proficient in engineering calculations and applications;
• Proficient in the use of computer – aided design CAD tools; Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles; and
• Must have own car and valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to African females.

Job Specification (not totally inclusive)
• Technical “ownership” of products within Engineering including; drawings, bills of material and specifications;
• Responsible for the correctness and completeness of all technical documentation including parts books, service manuals, training material and maintenance guidelines;
• Responsible for the technical scope of work and sales orders on all new and rebuild products;
• Responsible for the design verification of manufactured products (N.B. This is not a quality or policing function, but rather a link back of manufactured product to design intent, including manufacturability, focus on critical engineering processes (welding, etc.) capture of late changes, focus on “design for manufacture”);
• Responsible for the application engineering of products. This includes support of users, system integration, support of customers internal and external , linking product application and problems back to design;
• Maintain the technical integrity of products (avoid degradation of product functions due to design modifications and verifications);
• Risk assessment for all design changes;
• Perform or plan engineering evaluations including investigations, calculations and tests requiring guidance only in controversial circumstances;
• Provide conceptual and strategic solutions to solve problems that are associated with engineering projects or evaluations;
• Must be able to interpret Finite Element Analysis results to support the repairs of structural components;
• Develop and participate in programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design, safety of products and services as well as engineering best practices;
• Develop and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services; and
• Implement effective change management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes
