What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the Farming Equipment manufacture sector. All duties would take place in this context.
New Designs
* Create new designs of farm implements using AutoCAD or similar software
* Perform load and stress analysis
* Design failure protection mechanism
* Incorporate actuators such as hydraulics and electric motors

Enhance Designs
* Examine existing designs
* Determine opportunities for improvement
* Determine cause of failure in the field and design out problems

Design for Manufacture
* Adapt designs to manufacturing process
* Consider the ease/difficulty of manufacture in the design
* Ensure the design is easy to manufacture with quality

Field Testing
* Take the designs to the farm
* Actually do farm work and see how the design operates
* Make tweaks and adjustments to the design
* Speak to farmers to understand what features they need in the design
* Understand the causes of failure in the field

Key Job Deliverables:

* Create Drawnings of new Designs
* Design for Manufacture
* Field Testing

Background work experience:

* 3+ years Mechanical Engineering Design
* 1+ years Hydraulics
* National Diploma Mechanical Engineering or better
* Expert in 3D Design
* Strong on Hydraulics and Motors (Within Electro-Mechanical Context)
* Experience in Sheet Metal Manufacturing
* Adv: Agriculture and Farming Exposure
