Mechanical Trade Fitter N4 | Shift - eThekwini - Durban
Salary: R25-27K Depending on experience

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter, from the Manufacturing industry. Trade Test Fitter with N2-N4. Candidates must have their own reliable transport and be able to work Shifts. The position is based close to Pietermaritzburg.

This position reports to the Senior Executive: Mechanical & Utilities, and carries the primary responsibility of performing a variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, systems, heating systems, plumbing and machine repairs. This is a shift position R25-27K CTC, Full Benefits, NETT = R14500+/- TO START 1 MAY 2019 PREFERRED

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inspect and check equipment to ensure proper operating condition. Make necessary adjustments, log test readings, maintain, repair or replace all essential equipment parts.
• Implementation of routine PM checks including vibration & temperature inspections on designated rotating equipment and ensuring logging or recording of all readings. Includes preliminary assessment and reporting on found conditions.
• Align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools and templates.
• Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housing, fittings and fixtures.
• Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment and measuring instruments.
• Install, operate and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
• Maintain system history book and manual.
• Maintain records for used spares & tools
• Maintain the service record & log book of equipment.

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Knowledge about machine technical specs & parameters
• Efficient knowledge of measuring equipment
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to be self-managed and multi task
• Highly systematic, organised and accurate record keeping
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience in welding, cutting, grinding & fabrication fitting with certification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? Trade Test Certificate with N2-N4
? 5 years’ experience in manufacturing plant environment.
? Experience in welding, cutting, grinding & fabrication fitting with certification
? Must be willing to work shifts
? Based in eThekwini area – Umlazi, Pietermaritzburg, Umkomaas, Cato Ridge
? Includes medical aid, pension, 13th cheque, gap cover
? Must be willing to work extensive overtime, particularly during our shutdown period in December/January
