A client based in the Centurion area, has a vacancy for a Mechanical Wet Services Engineer – permanent role.

MAIN PURPOSE
To carry out the full spectrum of wet services concept and detail design, project management and quality control.

Required skills and responsibilities
Wet Services design; Water pipe reticulation design for buildings and sites with reference to domestic and fire water supply
Hot and cold water pipe reticulation design for buildings
Storm water pipe reticulation design for buildings
Drainage pipe reticulation design for buildings, including grey- and blackwater
Hot water installations: geysers, heat pumps, solar hot water
Domestic water pump installations
Water storage tanks for hot and cold water
Sanitary equipment selection and recommendations
Metering and sub-metering
Greywater design, Rainwater harvesting design, Wet services for high rise buildings
Borehole design and Irrigation design
Swimming pool design, also with heat pump heating
Wet services audits and due diligence reports
Preparation of contracts and bills
Life cycle costing
Budgets and cost control
Project management
Create standard drawings for the SEM-standard specification
Financial reports on projects
Site investigation with reference to wet services
Evaluation of the condition of all wet services in a building
Comparison of wet services with all regulations and requirements
Producing reports in the agreed standard
Attend project meetings to obtain client requirements
Do draft design of wet services
Compile preliminary and detail design report
Provide cost estimates
Provide preliminary as well as detail design drawings
Compile specifications and tender documentation
Compile bill of quantities
Call for tenders as agreed per project
Tender adjudication and recommendations
Appointment of contractors and/or subcontractors
Supervision during construction – attending of site progress meetings
Inspection of sites

QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanical Engineering Diploma or Degree

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum 3 years of experience of wet services for commercial buildings
