Overview:

Fetola are Cape Town based business growth professionals whose purpose is to accelerate the success of small businesses across the country. The company has a small head office with a national network of stakeholders.

Job Purpose:

Senior Media & Communications Manager drives the success of the Fetola Media & communications portfolio. This role ensures that Fetola and the Small businesses that it supports, are well represented in the press. Specific tasks include strategic design, management and output of monthly Catalyst e-publication, ongoing print, radio, online and TV media for Fetola and SMEs, and quality control of all external communications. The role requires a high level of organisational, people management and planning skills, excellent editing and writing skills, and a passion for creating positive impact. The candidate should have the ability to drive a new strategy from concept through to completion, and inspire and manage a diverse team.

Experience and Training:

• Relevant University degree - e.g. Journalism, Business, Philosophy, Communications or related
• Minimum of 5 years related working experience
• Excellent editorial and writing skills
• Excellent organisational and management skills
• Understanding of business writing and business content,
• Ability to manage a diverse team

• Drive new strategy from concept to delivery
• Manage a diverse media team
• Write thought leadership articles (business and human-interest)
• Boost the success of the monthly e-publication; The Catalyst
• Deliver ongoing media success through creation and publication of print, online, radio and TV articles
• Provide ongoing reports on impact and outcomes
