Title: MEDIA COORDINATOR

Muslim Hands, an international relief organisation, is looking to expand its fundraising team. Our Cape Town office is recruiting an enthusiastic and talented individual to grow our presence and fundraising activities across South Africa.
The Opportunity:
Muslim Hands is recruiting a communications professional with first class copywriting skills and proven PR and marketing communications experience to join our established team. Ambitious and creative, you will plan, manage and implement a range of exciting initiatives to help raise awareness of Muslim Hands’ activities. Experience working in NGO communications, and/or the third sector would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain strong external and internal communications regarding Muslim Hands programmes including promotional literature and other materials.
• Increase awareness and understanding of our work among our external audiences at a national and local level.
• Develop proactive strategies to achieve positive media coverage.
• Act as a resource of communications expertise and guidance for the fundraising team providing brand management, quality control and co-ordination for all communications.
• Produce and proof accurate, intelligent and engaging copy for a range of materials, e.g. print, web, broadcast.
• Oversee the on-going content management of the website.
• Build and lead the communications team, manage the team activities and priorities and coordinate interdepartmental programmes.

Print and digital marketing are critical to the growth of Muslim Hands both in raising awareness of our work and acquiring new donors. Your role will be central in expanding these areas and helping further the reach of Muslim Hands to assist even more people in need worldwide.
To be considered for this role you will need to have:
• Word processing capabilities with above average writing skills
• Discerning ability to source required information, suppliers and service providers
• Organisational and time management skills
• Proactive, Energetic and Innovative
• Excellent interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills
• You will also be exceptionally well presented with a corporate image and conduct yourself in a friendly and professional manner.
• A passion for humanitarian work
• Computer Literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email and Internet)
• Adaptability, flexibility and ability to multi task
• Professional image, both in person and communication
• Excellent Social Media knowledge and experience
• Creating written and visual content on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
• Promoting events via social media platforms.
