Media Strategist

Location: Bramley, Johannesburg
Salary: R35k – R45k per month

About the Role:
The media strategist is a key component of the agency; building multi-channel media plans, participating in brainstorms and creating advertising programs to meet client goals. As the media strategist, you will identify products and partners, recommend media mix, and provide success metrics following each effort. This role requires high attention to detail, experience in digital and other traditional channels (print, television, radio) and a passion for identifying where the industry is headed next.

Requirements:
2 – 4 years of media strategy experience
Experience with media planning and buying tools using Telmar and other possible research tools.
Own transport and valid driver’s licence.
Solid understanding of advertising, marketing, and strategic brand management, and how to best leverage these in a digital environment.
Knowledge of the digital marketing and advertising landscape, the unique technical aspects of the medium, and their impact on the development and execution of media strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation experience to internal teams and to clients.
A solid team player with energy and excitement to bring to our agency.
The ability to successfully manage multiple internal and external initiatives/projects in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong understanding of ROI on various projects and media platforms with the ability to translate opportunities into sales.
Chase system experience.

Duties:
Attend client meetings, develop long-lasting client relationships, and become seen as a senior strategic voice of authority in the agency.
Manage agency strategy efforts and projects, involved with projects from start to finish, ensuring successful project completion against deadlines.
Media strategy across a variety of clients in line with KPIs specified for each: use market research and competitive trends to generate insights that inform recommendations, research and understand demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences.
Generate and drive insights for client and agency pieces around media, brands, consumers, and experiences.
Manage measurement, analytics, data gathering, and reporting for clients and the agency.
Provide strategic thought leadership and expertise across clients and internal projects.
Oversee development of strategic direction through to creative execution.
Overseeing the media planning and buying to ensure it’s in line with the media strategy.
Overseeing post campaign reporting and evaluations to be done to ensure that all KPIs are met.
Reporting the numbers within the framework of the KPI document on a quarterly basis.
Compilation of all necessary presentations and delivery thereof to clients.
Research, report, and analyse competitive activity.
Develop and implement new processes to increase efficiencies and effectiveness of research, measurement, and strategy work for teams.
Digital media
Compile holistic digital media strategies across a variety of clients in line with KPIs specified for each – these digital media strategies need to be incorporated into the overall media strategy with an understanding of what media will serve what role in pushing the consumer to the endpoint.
Working with the social media manager to understand the integration of the social media strategy into the overall media strategy.
Assisting the social media manager with understanding how the social media strategy will form part of the overall media strategy and finding ways to improve the efficacy of it.
Overseeing the post campaign reporting to ensure that all KPIs are met.
Reporting the numbers within the framework of the KPI document on a quarterly basis.
Compilation of all necessary presentations and delivery thereof to clients.
