MEDICAL ADVISOR
Purpose:
• The 1st level interface of medical affairs with Key External Experts and Healthcare Organizations together with Head of Medical (field/office work ratio is approx 50/50) to endorse company science-driven partnership and collaboration with medical communities and academic institutions.
• Give support to Head of Medical as specified from time to time.
• Share feedback and insights of external experts internally to enhance therapy area strategy development and planning process.
• Participate in MA strategies development based on country needs and dynamics.
• Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials.
• Support medical training /updates to field force.
• Work in a multidisciplinary internal team to give products the best possible medical support.

Duties:
1) Medical affairs activities
• Obtain and maintain all necessary up-to-date medical knowledge, to the highest academic standard related to the applicable products.
• Develop medical tactics in alignment with regional brand medical strategy and plan.
• Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials.
• Build, maintain and engage with a network of key external experts, regulatory bodies, formulary committees, societies, patient groups, etc. on the medical/scientific aspects of products in line with policies and therapy area strategies.
• Gather medical insights and scientific intelligence in a timely manner to support medical strategies, life-cycle management and in-house decision making process.
• Support medical strategy implementation and provide medical expertise to commercial colleagues.
• Support the conduct of and participate in advisory boards meetings.
• Provide scientific and medical training to commercial team to ensure their scientific competency.
• Give medical support to Commercial activities as required.

2) Scientific and medical congresses
• Attend and support local, national, international congresses and medical educational meetings as required.
• Participate in medical information booth to address unsolicited queries about the therapy area and products.
• Interact during congress attendance and engage in patient-focused discussions.
• Document Medical Information Requests received at medical and scientific congresses.
• Attend lectures, satellite symposia and evaluate content accordingly and summarize such meetings to internal stakeholders if applicable.

3) Medical Information
• Respond effectively, record and archive all medical information requests and align with Pharmacovigilance for safety related queries in line with regulations and procedures.
• Supporting/assisting preparation of scientific presentations, dossiers, letters, etc. on Oncology products to internal and external stakeholders as required.

4) Ethics and Compliance
• Maintain up to date knowledge on internal regulation’s (SOP’s, working practices etc.) as well as external regulations (Global, European, local market’s codes and policies).
• Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements including local laws/regulations and quality documents.

Experience and Qualification

? Medically qualified personnel (MBCHB, or related PhD)
? Experience in a Medical Affairs position within the pharmaceutical industry for at least 1-2 years preferable.
? Preferably knowledgeable of the therapeutic areas.

R900k – Initially 1 year Fixed Term Contract
