To provide medical care and treatment to patients at sex worker and trucker care and treatment sites, to develop health programmes for these two groups and provide training to appropriate staff, to oversee a research agenda in consultation with senior management and to provide technical advice and support such as training, mentoring, referrals, data management and development of materials.

Key performance areas

• Clinical care and treatment
• Develop and adapt guidelines for treatment
• Examine and treat patients with primary health care issues
• Refer patients appropriately (both up and down referrals)
• Capacity building
• Participate in the assessment of clinical skills and needs
• Identify training needs
• Implement tools of good practice i.e. HIV standards, TB register, infection control manuals
• Develop guidelines and training materials and monitor the delivery and quality of training
• Provide training to all levels of health care personnel
• Reporting and administration
• Compile reports on progress and consultations made
• Participate in programme audits
• Compile and submit reports to programme managers
• Compile documents or conduct formal research to showcase work
• Stakeholder management (Internal and external)
• Act as point of contact for site, partner organisations, donors and internal stakeholders

Education, Training and Experience
• MBBCh degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Public Health practicing HIV and general clinical medicine
• Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• Certification in HIV management
• Experience working in a donor-funded organisation/NGO
• Experience writing research tools
• Ordered and systematic approach to tasks

This position is open to Foreign Nationals who are currently registered with HPCSA, Already poses a current work VISA, and whom have the right experience & qualifications.
