AHP has positions open in Limpopo for an experienced Medical Officer

Appropriate qualification in Health Sciences (MBChB)
Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Officer
Five years’ experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Officer

Sound knowledge of all legislation and regulations applicable to the health services and medical practice
Knowledge of bioethical principles
Sound knowledge of principles of public service and health services management

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

To provide holistic medical care to patients seeking medical attention, including examining and formulating of patient treatment plans
To ensure the provision of safe, ethical and high quality medical care
To be able to contribute to the realization of the departmental strategic goals
To participate in quality improvement projects (morbidity and mortality meetings, clinical audits and risk management)
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Provide preventive health interventions
Train and supervise medical interns, medical students and other personnel
Supervise and assist junior peers
Perform operating theatre work on an elective and emergency basis e.g. caesarean section, minor surgical procedures etc.
Participate in emergency after-hours service and perform medico legal duties
Facilitate staff training and continuous medical education and participate in after-hours medical service as per call roster.
