Urgently seeking a Medical Technologist for labs located in Durban. This technologist will analyse laboratory samples in order to provide results for medical practitioners to diagnose treat and prevent diseases.

This position requires the Medical Technologist to:

• Provide technical support to the laboratory in order to ensure the efficient flow of specimens within the specified timeframe
• Perform administrative tasks in order to ensure effective administration of systems in the laboratory
• Train laboratory staff in order to ensure continuous development and education
• Maintain good client relations in order to promote the image of the client
• Process routine bench work in laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens

Desired Skills & Experience:

• National Diploma in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) and have completed your 12 months internship with an accredited training laboratory.
• HPCSA registration as Medical Technologist (Clinical Pathology)
• 2+ years working experience within a pathology environment
• Understanding of pathology test procedures
• Knowledge of instrumentation and methodologies
• Knowledge of Quality Control
• Working knowledge of health and environment management policies
• Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel)
• Communication skills
• Numerical reasoning skills
• GCLP certificate and additional training is an added advantage
