Merchandise Planner
Northern Suburbs, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

We are looking for young, dynamic and passionate merchandise planners to join one of South Africa’s leading e-commerce stores.

You will be responsible for understanding and managing of the portfolio on a daily basis, performing stock analysis, tracking margins and implementing initiatives to improve margins. You will be responsible for meeting the customers’ needs, and also achieve new trends by analysing the portfolio to identify trends and opportunities and react accordingly.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS MERCHANDISE PLANNER

• Management of stock movement, using a stock management tool to forecast stock acquisition, velocity and replenishment cycles to balance cash on hand and minimise out of stocks
• Management of categories and curations within the portfolio to reflect current industry trends.
• Budgeting and forecasting of sales
• Tracking of individual SKU’s, categories and overall portfolio against targets set up by Merchandising and Procurement Manager
• Full reporting related to stock management, SKU management, category performance, margin performance and forecasts
• Management of product details on company website

Requirements for the ideal candidate:

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant retail experience
• Relevant qualification
• Attention to detail is not negotiable
• You must be data driven and numeric with demonstrated analytical skills
• Strong computer skills, which includes MS Office, Excel, stock management software, and ecommerce tools
• Bilingual – English and Afrikaans
• Adaptable to all types of situations/environments and you must show the ability to learn fast and willingness to go the extra mile,
• Show creativeness and ability to set new trends in the market.
