Contract position

The Superintendent - Projects role covers both the WCP and MSP operations, with the objective being to improve the technical performance of the circuits through the identification of gaps in the process flow sheet and identifying specific projects to address those gaps. At the same time this role manages the Metallurgical activities of the WCP’s.

Requirements
• Degree in Metallurgical or Mineral Processing or Mechanical engineering
• At least 7-10 years’ experience in mineral sands out of which minimum 3 years in driving capital projects in mineral sands.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Physics — Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics, and mechanical, electrical, atomic and sub- atomic structures and processes.
• Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective production of product.
• Plant Operations – Knowledge of and understanding of the plant operations.
• Production and Mining — Knowledge of Mining, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective mining of product.
• Chemistry — and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
