Job Description:
Metrologist
RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Measure components for ISIR, PPAP, PSW and Product Audit
Verify all IMT equipment to various standards,
Monitor all IMT equipment with regards to calibration frequencies,
Perform internal calibration and document results,
Update software files (gauge-pack software system),
Maintain calibration records for all IMT equipment,
Random check on all IMT equipment for possible damages,
Ensure that all IMT equipment "in- use" are calibrated,
Co-ordinate external calibration with accredited calibration laboratories,
Perform Gauge R&R studies,
Evaluate statistical results and implement corrective actions
Train production and quality personnel in the correct use and care of IMT equipment,
Investigate and implement processes in line with ISO 17025 requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

Dimensional Metrology Certificate
Quality Assurance Certification (City & Guilds)
Engineering background
In depth understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
Extensive knowledge of various inspection, test and measuring equipment
Knowledge of ISO 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025
Experience in the automotive industry within a Metrology environment
Good proficiency of MS Office
Basic understanding of Laboratory control in line with ISO 17025 would be advantages
