PBT is looking for a Microsoft Business Intelligence Developer to implement BI solutions on a Microsoft platform.
This position is for someone who has depth and breadth of skill and exhibits leadership qualities. This role entails problem solving, technical depth and innovation skills.

DUTIES:
- Strong working knowledge of the design and implementation of BI systems
- Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI solutions.
- Develop query and reporting layer including dashboards and structured reports
- Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses
- Troubleshoot BI solutions and performance-tune these applications as necessary
- Translate the BRD into the technical specification
- Use third party applications as chosen by the client
- Promote BI usage to relevant departments
- Come up with innovative approaches to delivering more efficiently
- Adoption of the architectural anddevelopment standards by the implementation team
- 2+ years development experience in a Microsoft/ BI environment:
- SQL Server 2005/2008
- SSIS (Integration services)
- SSAS (Analysis services)
- - SSRS (Reporting services)
- BI and data warehouse experience (including experience with OLAP tools such as SQL Server Analysis Services, Performance Point)
- An understanding of Microsoft architecture
- Knowledge of Kimball methodology (specifically Kimball based data modelling)
- Intimate knowledge of source systems as well as a basic understanding of dimensional models.
- Conventional database- and data warehouse modelling skills, in order to understand the data warehouse data models.
- A sound knowledge of the programming language used to write the data staging programs or ETL tool.
- A sound knowledge of SQL, or the language used to access the source databases and the data warehouse from the data staging programs or ETL tool.
- A sound knowledge of the capabilities of the ETL tools, to know what their capabilities and shortcomings are – in order to exploit or avoid those aspects in the data staging programs.
- Pride of work, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Relevant data warehouse and BI solution experience is essential.
- B.Sc. or related degree is advantageous.
